Top Quranic Reciter - Sheikh Minshawi's Family
Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al Minshawi is of the same generation as Sheikh Kamil Yusuf Al Bahtimi and in fact he was also a protege of Sheikh Muhammad Salamah. His father was also a well known reciter and his brother, Sheikh Mahmud Al Minshawi has now established himself as a respected professional reciter in Cairo. Sheikh Al Minshawi was born in Upper Egypt and established himself as a reciter there before coming to Cairo. He is especially admited for the spirituality, gravity and dignity of his style.

as a matter of fact I can not express how bless I am with the recitation of Shaiekh Muhaamad Al Minshawi and the others. His recitation in particular has been a catalist in reviving my ability, focus and peace of mind anytime I am seriously engage in artwork; I play his recitation whenever I am at the back of my computer. They have really blessed us with the Tajweed of the ears and we are also trying to give the Muslim Ummah the tajweed of the eyes - The art of Islamic calligraphy!
May Allah bless him and the rest of others and reward them with Al-Jannat Al-Firdaws. Aameen! | |

Asalamualiakum Brothers and Sisters.
I had the pleasure of reading about famous qaris and learning about our brother "haffiz's" passion for qaris Antar Saeed.
First of all I'am not against qaris, in fact I myself am a qaris and Imam of an East london mosque and a great fan of qari mahmood Shahat and his family, not forgetting most of the old qaris of Egypt.
Please do not approach my comment in the wrong way.
I expect the majority of will not know that qari Antar Saeed has not read tajweed rules since he cannot see.
He is the only famous qari who's reading has been classified as haram by many scholars of tajweed since he does'nt read by tajweed rules.
Obviously he can read much better then the typical asian muslim since his mother tongue is Arabic.
But as he does not stick to the tajweed rules; either because he does'nt know, because no one will have the guts to tell off a famous qari,or he knows but chooses not to since he is so adapted to his current tune that he chooses not to change his way of reading. Whichever ways according to scolars of TAJWEED, not scholars of Fiqh, the tilawat of Qari Antar Saeed and the listening of his tilawat is considereed Haram.
I took my time to express this comment in my words, not because I'am jealous(just in case someone had that in mind, being a fan of Qari Antar), but because he is the ONLY qari that I have heard about, whos reading some scholars have put down as Haram.
I myself was quite shock when I heard this the first time.
Many other qaris have not read tajweed rules but read very beautifully. But thier reading is not tagged with being haram. For example, the Imam of Qabbah (Shaikh Sudais has not read tajweed rules, but is the Imam of one the great wonders of the world.
I wrote this huge comment so brother will benefit from it. It's up to you what you decide.
